Pain, anger, luck and happiness; Cliff notes to life

Pain

You may leave this life at any moment, so pay attention to every thought and act. Death, life, pleasure, pain, all these things happen to good men and bad, and they are neither good nor evil.

It is only a matter of how you face these things, that separate us. When pain is inevitable, it makes no sense to pay unnecessary attention to it.

Shit happens, get a helmet.

Anger

Anger is like a burning coal in your hand. It burns you much more than the person you are planning to throw it at.

The person you are hating quite probably is totally unaware about your burning rage, he is happily living his life.

I ask you: Which one of you is winning?

Luck

There is no such thing as good luck. It only seems like good luck, when opportunity meets preparation.

Logical conclusion from that postulate is: You must be prepared at all times and sensitive to recognize opportunity, when you see it.

Simple as that.

And hard as hell.

Happiness

True happiness is… to enjoy the present, without anxious expectation of the future.

Most of the people are waiting, living conditionally. When summer comes…when I get a job…when I have more time…when I have more money.

You have all you need right now. You will never live up to your expectations.

Face it.

Now is all you ever get.

Expecting is the greatest impediment to living. In anticipation of tomorrow, you lose today.
